Our Happy Home

Scott and I bought our house in April 2007. We have been doing DIY home projects ever since. We have now painted every wall in the house but two rooms and changed our flooring and put in cabinets. It seems like the jobs are never ending but we are enjoying spending time together doing these projects, even though I am clueless on half of them and Scott ends up doing the rest. My favorite part is mowing the lawn (I know that sounds weird) but I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to the lawn (up and down, back and forth, and angle). Lucy is enjoying that she has a fence and doesn't have to be on the leash all the time. It hasn't made her lose any weight though!! Our next spring/summer project is going to be a patio in the back and possibly a new deck that you don't have to stain!!!!!

Grand Island Dental Center

In May of 2007, I started working as a dentist in my new office!! Things have been great and I don't have enough compliments about my partner and staff. I bought into the business this August and now am officially half a business owner. I love my job and I love going to work each day. We have 8 staff members and are continuing to try new products and update technology to better our care for our patients.

Active Family Chiropractic and Acupuncture

Scott had decided he wanted to open his own chiropractic business after getting out of school. Little did I know how much of the construction he wanted to do himself. Let's just say quite a bit. In September of 2008 he celebrated his one year anniversary of opening his doors. His office turned out great and his business is booming. He now has 2 employees and is always thinking of new ideas and modernizing equipment so he can continually improve his business.

Puerta Vallarta

We spent our 1 year anniversary in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. We went to an all-inclusive resort (which I would highly recommend to anyone). We were only there for 4 days but it was mostly a relaxation trip. Aside from laying by the pool and the ocean we did not do a whole lot. Our big adventure was going on the canopy tours. We took a speed boat across the ocean to the mountains, from there got in a army convoy truck (which backfired the whole time), then we hopped on our donkeys. Once we got to the top we enjoyed swinging from the treetops like monkeys and propelling down waterfalls. It was one of the most incredible things I have done because I conquered my fear of heights. Even if it was for just that day!!!! After too many drinks and 2 sunburned Riefs, we hopped a plane back to NE to make it back for work the next day! Hopefully we will be able and blessed enough to celebrate each anniversary with a special little trip.

"The Harley"

This summer Scott decided to walk on the wild side a little bit and get a Harley. He was pretty excited about it and after taking the marathon weekend class on "how to ride a motorcycle" he has been a pro ever since. I do hop on the back occasionally but there are certain stipulations how fast we can go. So I am kind of a downer on the bike. We are enjoying it though and it gives us a new hobby.
